Whats not to love?

chaplininpictures:

One of Charlie’s many lovers, actress Sigrid (aka Signe) Holmquist.
According to Tramp by Joyce Milton*, their first date (which occurred while Charlie was engaged to Pola Negri) was an eventful one:
“[Chaplin] confided to Sam Goldwyn that his first date with actress Signe Holmquist ended at her apartment with her holding a revolver to his head and demanding that he vow eternal fidelity to her. He was frightened, but not unpleasantly so. ‘What a hot one she was!’ he said.”
(*Milton cites the unpublished manuscript Charlie Chaplin: Man & Mime by Harry Crocker as the source for this story)
